Following the recent developments and confusions in the Nigerian education sector over the new mode of admission of new students into the Nigerian tertiary institutions, most Jambites have been left anxious over their admission status and chances of being admitted into their universities or schools of choice since there is no more Post UTME Exams or aptitude test as the UME was popularly called. No need  to worry anymore as you can now check your JAMB admission consideration status and know your fate.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB yesterday released a portal for all jamb applicants who made the cut off marks and  met other admission criteria during the last UTME (JAMB 2016) examinations to login and check if they have been considered for admission or not in the 2016/2017 session. The portal to check JAMB Admission consideration Status enables candidates to check which department or courses in which they have been considered for admission by JAMB after JAMB LOGIN with their JAMB REGISTRATION NO.s in the Jamb official website.

PLEASE NOTE: you can get a response of where which school you have been considered for admission which means that your data has fully been processed. Some might be told that their data is still in progress and this means that they should keep checking from time to time in so far they got the Jamb cut off mark and met other criteria for admission in 2016/2017 session.

It will be recalled that the federal government of Nigeria had recently cancelled the conduct of UME or aptitude test by individual universities for 2016/2017 session in order to allow JAMB which is the Exam body that has the legal backing to conduct examinations for entrance into Nigerian tertiary institutions to their work and also prevent what the Nigerian Government saw as extortion on the part of the universities and other tertiary institutions in the country.

JAMB subsequently made it clear that the Criteria for 2016/2017 admission will be Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)/Advanced Level results for verification and clearing purposes, adding that WAEC, NECO and NBTE results or their equivalent are acceptable as matriculation requirements with at least 5 credits and Admission would be based on three legally backed pillars of: merit, catchment areas and educationally less developed states (ELDS).

Congratulations to all the Jambites who have succeeded in joining the aluta group this year after being considered by admission by JAMB.
