London giants Chelsea football club have agreed a deal to sign N'Golo Kante from English premier league champions Leicester city football club after the French star decided not to remain in Leicester this summer.

The deal to bring Kante to Chelsea is rumoured to be in the region of £30m which was believed to be the players release clause from his contract with Leicester and it is expected that it will be concluded this weekend as the player is said to have passed his medicals with only mere formalities left before the deal is made official.

Kante had joined Leicester city  last season last summer from french side caen  for £5.6m and went on to establish himself as the best defensive midfielder in England in his first season in which he helped Leicester to win a fairy tale premier league trophy for the first time in their history.

He payed in 37 out of the 38 games of the club's league winning campaign and made the most tackles and intervention in all top European leagues for last season and gained his first call up to the French national nteam in match last year and also won himself a place in the french team that reached the finals of the euro 2016 on home soil.

Following all his impressive showings for his club and country, so many big European sides had indicated interest in the player with Real Madrid and Arsenal once rumoured to be close to securing a deal for the midfielder destroyer.

Earlier this week, Leicester boss, Claudio Ranieri revealed that Kante was offered a new 4 year contract to remain at the king power stadium but the player had the 25 year old had told them club to wait till after the Euro 2016 and expressed a certain level of uncertainty in the players future as he went on to state that he would fully understand if the player finally decides to leave the club.

Ranieri said:  “We offered Kanté a new deal before he went to the Euros. Now I know there are a lot of big teams interested. It’s in his hands.” I don't want to lose him. I don't want to, but I could understand if he wants to go."

The desire to work under Antonio Conte is reported to be the player's major reason for rejecting other teams and champions league football to join the west London club which will not be playing in any European competition next season.

Kante's signing becomes the second major signoing by the club under new Manager Antonio Conte after the club had capture the services of belgian striker, Michy Bashuayi from Marseille for £33m as the club seeks to rebuild following a horrific title defense that saw the team finish the season in 10th position.

Should Chelsea sign kante as expected, the future of some of their current midfield players will come under heavy threat as the tireless midfielder is expected to walk straight into the team if he keeps his current level of performances.

What is your thought on the Kante to chelsea deal?
