N-Power Graduate Teacher Corps Seeks To Employ 500,000 Young Graduates

 

One of the biggest problems facing Nigeria is Youth Unemployment and successive Governments have come and gone at all levels without real efforts to tackling this problem to the extent that it is getting to a crisis level. N-Power Nigeria Is a progammme designed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to tackle youth unemployment in the country and bring it down to the lowest level.

The aim of these programme is to transform the unemployed Nigeria youth to an employer of labour. The focus is to provide young Nigerian graduates and non-graduates with the skills, tools and livelihood to enable them advance from unemployment to employment, entrepreneurship and innovation. N-Power Nigeria 2016 is the first phase of the programme; it targets Nigeria’s critical needs in education, agriculture, technology, creative, construction and other artisan industries.

N-Power Graduate Teacher Corps Programme

The N-Power Nigeria Graduate Teacher Corps is designed to engage and train 500,000 young unemployed Nigerian graduates. It is a paid volunteering programme of a 2 year duration. All the Participants will get computing devices that will contain information necessary for their specific engagement, as well as information for their continuous training and development.

NPower Nigeria Graduate Teacher Corps programme is further sub divided into 4 categories namely: N-power Health, N-Power Teach, N-Power Agro And N-Community Education respectively. All the Participants will provide teaching, instructional, and advisory solutions in these four key areas listed above. All participants will receive the same certificate of National Skill Qualification, (NSQ) at the end of the two years.

N-Power Agro 

 The Federal Government Of Nigeria wants to diversify the economy into the Agricultural sector by engaging young Nigerian Graduates and that is what this category is all about. The participants under this category will function as intermediaries between research and farmers. They will operate as facilitators and communicators, helping farmers in their decision-making and ensuring that appropriate knowledge is implemented to obtain the best results on farms.

For you to apply for Npower Nigeria Agro, the following requirements need to be met:

• Currently Unemployed
• Must be a graduate (any field or profession )
• Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps Programme
• Aged between 18-35
• Interest in the agricultural industry

N-Power Teach

 The N-Power Teach programme is designed to engage qualified Nigerian  graduates in basic education delivery. They will be deployed as teaching assistants in primary and secondary schools across the country. They will not replace the current teachers, but will work as support teachers, assisting with teaching, school management and other functions within the schools.

• Must be a graduate in any field or profession

• Aged 18-35
• Disposition to teaching and imparting knowledge
• Disposition to discovering knowledge
• Patience and ability to listen are good qualities to possess

N-Power Health

Here, The participants will be trained to work as public health assistants. They will teach preventive health to community members including pregnant women, children, families and individuals. They will also be trained to provide some basic diagnostic services.

 Npower Heatlth participants will monitor health status to identify and solve community health problems, they will be able to diagnose and investigate basic health problems and health hazards in individuals and the community as well as inform, educate, and empower people about health issues and so on.

 For you to apply for Npower Nigeria Health, the following requirements need to be met:

• Currently Unemployed
• Must be a graduate ( any field or profession )
• Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps Programme
• Aged 18-35
• An interest in public health
• You should be a caring individual, interested in the health and safety of others and of good temperament.

N-Power Community Education 

This category is basically meant to teach the Nigeria Public across difffernt age groups some of the thing most currently lack and need to know. The participants will be deployed nationally to instruct on two basic areas namely: Civic Education and Adult Education.
