Why Chelsea Became Transfer Market Winners: Willian Sign New Chelsea Contract

Chelsea Football Club yesterday emerged one of the greatest Gainers of this summer's transfer window so far by committing their best player Willian Borges to the club on long term .

Brazil and Chelsea forward, Willian, yesterday signed a new long term contract with the club. The Brazil superstar signed a four year contract with club yesterday just a day after the club senior players returned for training. Willian's new contract is a reward for the players hard work and commitments to the club.

The play maker's future has been subject to several speculations with Manchester United now managed by  Jose Mourinho, the manager that brought Willian to Stamford bridge 3 years Ago being tauted to be the front runners to acquire the services of the highly gifted and hardworking forward. Chelsea has moved quickly to commit the player to his duties at Stamford Bridge by giving him an improved 4 years contract which will keep him at the club till 2020.

The player who moved to Chelsea Football Club from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala 3 years ago has grown in reputation since arriving at the club. He played major roles as the club won the 2014/2015 league and League cup double.

Though Chelsea didn't have the best of title defense last season, Willian was the only player who was outstanding all through the season scoring some vital goals and with all round general display. He ended the season as both the players' player of the year and the fans' player of the year.

After putting pen to paper on the new contracts, the player expressed his happiness for getting a new contract and the club through the technical director, Michael Emenalo also expressed happiness for being able to keep their star man at the club for another four years. Willian said: ‘I’m very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. It’s a dream to continue with this club and over the next four years I will try to help the team win more trophies.
'It’s been an amazing time for me since I joined the club three years ago, I’ve won titles and last season I was named Chelsea Player of the Year. 'I hope to be able to stay at that level during the coming seasons and achieve more success.'

Technical director Michael Emenalo added: ‘We are very pleased to agree a new long-term deal with Willian, who has proved himself to be an important player for the team since he arrived here. We are looking forward to seeing his continued impact as we begin an exciting new campaign under first-team head coach Antonio Conte.’
