The Voice Nigeria is a music reality show which is the Nigerian version of the Global music reality show series THE VOICE. The voice Nigeria 2016 is the the premiere season or the very first time that the show is taken place in the country. Here, we will be looking at the list of all the contestants, their teams, states of origin and so much more.
The voice Nigeria was first broadcast in the country on April 10, 2016 on AfricaMagic Urban and AfricaMagic showcase channels of DSTV. It is sponsored by Airtel in conjunction with Coca Cola. The maiden Edition had a total of Four teams and forty eight contestant.
Each of the four teams is headed by one of the four Judges and comprises of 12 contestants each. The four judges are four established Nigerian Music Icons and they are, 2Baba/2Face Idibia, Timi Dakolo, Waje and Patoranking.
TheVoice Nigeria is more or less a musical Talent Hunt. The contestants are coached by their team leaders who also happen to be their mentors. The show consists of six stages as follows: blind listening, duels, knockouts, quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals.
In the preliminary stages of the Voice Nigeria, every participant will showcase his or her talents and in final part, the audience will decide who stays and who goes home by voting for their Favorite contestants. The winner of the competition gets the title ‘The best voice of the country’, cash bonus and signs the contract with leading recording studio in the country.
