Barcelona Breaking News: Neymar To Sign New Barcelona Contract In Few days

Neymar to sign new five year deal with barcelona
Barca forward Neymar set to sign new 5-year deal.

Brazil forward Neymar Jnr is set to extend his stay at FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu stated this in a press conference today (Thursday). The future of the Brazil superstar has been subject to uncertainty recently due to some off field events that has been troubling especially as regards to some tax evasion issues related to his transfer from Santos to Barcelona.

Neymar has been heavily linked to a move away from the Camp Nou before the end of his current contract in the summer of 2018. A host of top European club has been trying to lure him away from Barcelona with Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain and more recently their la liga rivals, Real Madrid but Barcelona has moved swiftly to secure the Brazilian skippers long term future at the club.

Speaking to the press earlier today, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has made it clear that the 24 year old forward will remain at the club as both parties have been having a successful discussion on renewing the players contract and the player is set to put pen to paper in a matter of days. He said:

"Neymar wants to stay here. In the next few days we will finalize his contract extension.
Neymar is not going to go from Barca, he is not going to leave.

Therefore, I do not know if [it will be] tomorrow or the day afterwards but Neymar is going to continue for five seasons. It's normal that other clubs are interested in him.

I will make this clear - Neymar has never told us that he wants to leave. The club's lawyers and Neymar's lawyers will be finalising the renewal and I hope that it will be closed in the next few days."

Meanwhile report claims that, deal will make the 24-year-old's release clause rise to a whooping €230 million and keep the player at the Camp Nou for another five years having moved from Santos to Barcelona in 2013. This will be a big stumbling block to any side who will dream of pricing the player away from Barcelona in the foreseeable future.

It was expected anyway...so cheer up Barca faithfuls, your Brazilian jewel will remain with you for another 5 years.
